Databases vs Models
When you connect any integration in Runway, the data flows into a database.
Databases support detailed granularity—like your Income Statement broken down by GL and Department. You can build driver formulas directly within the database, but we know most team members or investors don’t need to collaborate at that level of detail.
That’s where models come in. They offer a layer of abstraction to sum up or consolidate drivers into a more user-friendly output.
All drivers, whether they’re in a database or a model, are accessible anywhere in Runway.
