Hubspot – Runway Help Center

Pre-requisites

Here’s what you’ll need to connect to Hubspot:

An active Hubspot admin account

The username and password for your account

The ability to receive confirmation codes for your account

Connecting to Hubspot

Go to the Integrations Directory and search for Hubspot. Click + Set up next to the search result. We recommend selecting the ‘Hubspot Default’ option listed under the ‘Other’ category (highlighted in the video featured below).

Use the default Auth type (OAuth 2.0) to connect, and sign in to your Hubspot account.

Pulling Data from Hubspot

Once you’ve successfully connected, go to the left navigation menu in Runway and select ‘Hubspot’ under the ‘Integrations’ section.

Click + to add a new query.

Identify the Hubspot data you would like to pull into Runway. Then, from the Hubspot Object dropdown, select the type of Hubspot Object you’d like to bring in. The nomenclature in Runway will mirror the structure of your data in Hubspot.

Add the properties you want to integrate.

Next, select Run Query to get a preview of the data that will be pulled. To proceed, select Sync to Runway. Runway will automatically run the query, and create a database with your Hubspot data.

Give the intial sync a few minutes to complete. Once your database populates, you’re ready to start modeling! 👩‍💻

How integrated data is handled

The fields pulled from Hubspot are converted to dimensions or properties within a database in Runway. This lets you create drivers that are directly connected to your Hubspot data.

Runway supports read-only integrations. We don’t write any data back to Hubspot.

FAQ

Can I connect multiple instances of Hubspot?

Absolutely. To add more instances, go to the Integration Directory in Runway. Click Installed and then select Set Up. You’ll be prompted to go through the same authentication flow as before—select the new instance and follow the steps listed above.

This data doesn’t meet my needs. Are there other ways to integrate Hubspot data?

Yes. While our recommended approach meets the needs of most customers, there are other ways to pull in Hubspot data into Runway. You can write your own SQL queries, leveraging this Hubspot schema. Not a SQL expert? Not a problem—your CX crew member can help shape your data exactly the way you need.

How can I see historical values in my Hubspot database?

By default, Runway pulls values starting from the date your integration is successfully connected. Please reach out to your CX crew member for help with integrating prior history.
